The 2023 International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) was held in London, England from May 29 through June 2. The Robotics Institute had a strong presence at the event, and MRSD students and grads received recognition for their fantastic work.
Yilin Cai, who just graduated from the program on May 12, won Outstanding Manipulation Paper for In-Hand Manipulation in Power Grasp: Design of an Adaptive Robot Hand with Active Surfaces. He was the primary author, and this publication was also one of three finalists for Outstanding Conference Paper out of 1,345 submissions (so in the top 0.2%). All nominees and winners can be viewed here.
Also, current students Siddharth Saha and Andrew Wong came in 3rd out of 7 teams in ICRA’s 2023 Autonomous Quadruped Robot Challenge (AQRC). Their entry was based largely on their MRSD Project, which is a search and rescue robot.
