The CraterGrader Team (MRSD 2023) – comprised of John Harrington, Ryan Lee, Alexander Pletta, Russell Q. Wong, and Benjamin Younes, supervised by William “Red” Whittaker – had their paper accepted and successfully presented at the prestigious Robotic Science and Systems (RSS) conference. The team’s efforts throughout their MRSD program culminated in an innovative system for autonomous lunar terrain manipulation, overcoming the challenges of GPS-free localization, dynamic mapping, and optimized material movement on deformable lunar terrain.
